This Book Says It All

Great book by a great writer. A book that needed to be written.

Who needs tell-alls from Anonymous, Mattis, Mary Trump, etc.?? This book says it all.

Read it, weep and share it with your friends.

(PS - I'm sorry this website is getting so political. It is hard not to be in these crazy times.)

50th Anniversary of One of My Favorite Times

The 19070 New York Knicks. One of the most likable teams in NBA history. Game 7 to beat the Los Angeles Lakers for the NBA Championship. Willis Reed's and Walt Frazier's heroic performances. Those were heady times.

Jayhawks Big 12 Champions Again - 13 Years in a Row

The Jayhawks clinched the Big 12 Title for the 13th consecutive season.  Here is a great post from ESPN today.
"After Wednesday's win over TCU, Kansas has now clinched at least a share of its 13th consecutive Big 12 title. The streak puts the Jayhawks in elite company, as it ties the mark that John Wooden's UCLA teams set from 1967 to 1979.
While the sum of the parts is what's most impressive, each season presented a different set of challenges. Here's a look at the one crucial moment from each title-winning season.

Today is 60th Anniversary of a Remarkable Achievement - The First Sub-Four Minute Mile

Sir Roger Bannister ran mile in 3 minutes, 59.4 seconds on May 6, 1964, becoming the first person to break the four-minute barrier, an achievement that mid-distance runners had be striving for unsuccessfully for many years.  The record didn't last long (it was broken just a few weeks later).  That said, it has been said that more people have climbed Mr. Everett than run sub-four minute miles.  The current record 60 years later is just over 3 minutes, 43 seconds.

Bannister's achèvement is something to remember.
