Do you remember where you were 40 years ago today?
I do, like it was yesterday. I was in Wyoming with my best friend completing a 1-1/2 week backpacking trip in Bridger National Wilderness.
We learned the news the next day when returned from the back country and we saw newspapers in town announcing the great news.
Being the Nixon haters that we were, we couldn't wait to get checked into the motel and turn on television to get the details and see the humiliated slime bag squirm, look the nation in the eye and quit.
Nixon was disgraced and out of office finally. It was one of the happiest days of my life!!!

"Richard Nixon has never been one of my favorite people anyway. For years I've regarded his existence as a monument to all the rancid genes and broken chromosones that corrupt the possibilities of the American Dream; he was a foul caricature of himself, a man with no soul, no inner convictions, with the integrity of a hyena and the style of a poison toad. The Nixon I remembered was absolutely humorless; I couldn't imagine him laughing at anything except maybe a paraplegic who wanted to vote Democratic but couldn't quite reach the lever on the voting machine."
