Guy Gavriel Kay's The Last Light of the Sun is the best book I have read in a very long time.
This book is a story about 9th century Vikings, Wales and England mildly disguised by fictional names, which makes one remember that being human transcends time with all of us parts of the human drama that started long ago, happening now and will hopefully continue for much longer; a drama in which we all have our own part and that is made up of individual and collective storylines that join and separate, and sometimes never meet.
The Last Light of the Sun is a fabulous story about fathers, mothers, daughters, sons and legacy; the influence of fate on our lives; friendship, loyalty, love and glory; and life's mysteries and magic. It is a great book. Check it out.
