Too Many Threads to Pull

Some of you may know I am a huge Neal Stephenson fan. I'm 700 pages into his latest 950 page book, Anathem, which I like (but not as much as his three volume 2,700 page Baroque Cycle books which I loved in all respects) plus I admit there is much in his new book that I think I don't really understand completely.

All that said, check out his acknowledgements for Anathem and you'll see why, in addition to his writing style, I like him. Unfortunately, I'm afraid to follow too many of the threads in the link because I'm afraid they'll take me into more than I have time to handle and still read all the trash I also like to read.
